<p>A low cost wire comprises an iron wire core, and a coating (2) disposed outside the iron wire (1). The material of the coating is copper or aluminum, and the thickness of the coating is 5%-12.5% of the total diameter of the wire. The core part being replaced with the iron wire may save about 70% copper or aluminum, and the cost of the material is reduced. An electrified conductor incurs a skin effect, so the core part replaced with the iron wire does not affect the conductivity. The melting point of the copper or aluminum is lower than that of the iron, so the outer surface of the iron wire may be easily coated with the copper or aluminum, and therefore, the process is simple and easy to be implemented. Meanwhile, the iron wire has higher strength, so the strength of the whole wire is increased, thereby prolonging the service life of the wire.</p> |
