<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reduce time and effort at the time in which items which have been temporarily registered are searched for afterwards. <P>SOLUTION: A read-out device 101 detects a code symbol included in an image taken by an image taking part 164, reads out the code information corresponding to the code symbol (S4), and outputs the read out code information to a POS terminal 11 (S5). The POS terminal 11 registers the sales of the items identified by the output code information (S21). The POS terminal 11 obtains information regarding the temporary registration and image of the items for which unregistered information is read out when the output code information is unregistered (S23, S25) and recognizes characters included in the image of the obtained items (S26).
