<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting which controls the generation of a crack when cutting a laminated body including a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. <P>SOLUTION: The method for cutting uses edged tools having cutting edge angles 1, 2, 3 of acute angles between 15-60° for cutting. The tension when cutting is controlled between 0.5-2.0 Kgf/35 mm width. The depth 9 of cut of the edge is 0.3-1.0 mm. The chamfering amount of an cutting edge is 1-5 μm.
