<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fullerene base material, by which a fullerene base material is separated and refined. <P>SOLUTION: An ionic or polarized fullerene base material 7 is refined using electrophoresis in which the ionic or polarized fullerene base material 7 is dispersed in a migration solution 2 and a voltage is applied between a plurality of electrodes 3, 4 in the migration solution.
