<p>The present invention provides a display device capable of avoiding a situation in which information that has been assigned to light sources that cannot be lit is not displayed at all even in a situation in which a portion of light sources among a plurality of light sources cannot be lit. Normal video image data acquisition means acquires, from an input video image signal, a plurality of video image data (RP, GP, BP) which have been assigned to a plurality of light sources, respectively, at normal display time as normal video image data (D1). Computation means (150), by performing a predetermined computation upon the plurality of video image data (RP, GP, BP) which have been included in the normal video image data (D1), generates auxiliary video image data (D2) which are used instead of the normal video image data (D1) at auxiliary display time. Selection means (160) performs selection processing for supplying either the normal video image data (D1) or the auxiliary video image data (D2) to a modulation driving means according to an instruction from control means.</p> |
