<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means of measuring line quality by a simple device configuration independently of a digital modulation system and a coding system without reducing data transmission efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In a receiver of a digital communication system, a line quality measurement device has: a code distortion removing part that removes code distortion from a signal A, which is obtained by detecting a received signal by a wave detector, at a processing time N to obtain a signal B; a delay part that delays the signal A by the time N to obtain a signal C; and an error detector that compares a phase of the signal B with a phase of the signal C to output the presence or absence of a difference.
