POLYMER BLEND FOR PRODUCING FILM WITH REDUCED NUMBER OF DEFECTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer blend which can be used to produce foils or moldings with a reduced number of defects.

SOLUTION: The processability of a cycloolefin polymer is remarkably improved by adding a selected amount of polyethylene to the cycloolefin polymer. Further, the number of defects of a foil produced from the polymer blend is reduced by blending the polyethylene and the cycloolefin polymer in a molten state or mixing a polyethylene solution and a cycloolefin polymer solution.
