<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus able to accurately and easily detect humidity near a photoreceptor without using a special sensor or member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control device 11 able to execute a humidity detection mode in which a first area of a photoreceptor 1b is charged by applying a first DC voltage to a contact charger 2, the photoreceptor 1b is rotated without emitting light to the first area by an exposure device 3, and the first area is charged again by the first DC voltage by the contact charger 2. The control device 11 detects information about humidity based on first current detected by a current detector 5 when the first area is charged again with the first DC voltage by the contact charger 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
