<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing an optical element molding die causing no welding of glass, and stably repeating molding. <P>SOLUTION: The method for processing the optical element molding die 1 for molding a glass material M into an optical element by press molding includes: a process of removing at least a portion of a surface part of the optical element molding die 1 in which a thermal oxidization layer 5 is provided on a surface part of a surface layer 3 formed on a surface of die base material 2 that consists of cemented carbide or silicon carbide; and a reheating process of heating the surface layer 3, from which at least the portion of the surface part is removed, to oxidize the surface part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
