<p>The invention is directed compositions and methods related to bacterial cells that are physically associated with ceramide-like glycolipids for use as antigen carriers for heterologous antigens. The invention further relates to methods of incorporating ceramide-like glycolipid to bacterial cell walls. The compositions and methods of the present invention are useful for the prevention and treatment of diseases.</p>
