The device (10) has a clamping device (12) in which a metallic specimen is clamped. An inductor (20) is provided over the entire measuring length of the specimen clamped at the clamping device, to facilitate inductive heating process of the specimen. The inductor is provided over the entire length at a constant distance of the clamped specimen. The inductor is displaceable with respect to the surface of the specimen. An independent claim is included for method for determining technological properties of metallic specimen.
