In the method for manufacturing an uncured blank for a vehicle tyre, a strip (30) of rubber compound is extruded and it is made to pass between two members (18, 10), one of which forms a roller for extruding the strip (18) in such a way that the faces (21, 23) of the strip, forming one and the same section of the strip in a plane perpendicular to the run direction of the strip and in simultaneous bearing contact with the respective members, are driven at linear speeds differing from each other, and in such a way that the members (18, 10) stretch the strip therebetween.
