<p>In a system for checking the pressure of the tires of a vehicle, the invention comprises allocating the wheel units (20a-20d) of the vehicle to the location thereof in correlation with the detection of the wheel speeds provided by another safety system, for example an ABS system. However, the offset transmission of data between the two systems may result in allocation errors. The aim of the invention is to avoid such erroneous allocations. To this end, the RSSI profiles received from a single identifier of a wheel unit are offset in order to determine the time offsets (?R11, ?R12,...,?R1 i) relative to a reference profile (R10). The series of absolute angular offsets (?R1 to ?R4) of the identifiers (ID1, to ID4) are then compared to the series of angular offsets (?Ia to ?Id) reconstructed from the angular positions (?a' to ld') provided by the four speed sensors. For each identifier (ID1, to ID4), a single series of angular offsets (?la à ?ld) of one of the speed sensors (40a to 40d) changes linearly over time. Said speed sensor locates the transmitting wheel unit as the fixed position of each speed sensor is known on the vehicle.</p> |
