<p>1378227 Jet pumps MARCONA CORP 11 Sept 1972 [16 Sept 1971] 42132/72 Heading F1E A jet pump comprises a discharge pipe 10 having a Venturi shaped intake 12 into which a nozzle 16 discharges to entrain fluid in which the intake 12 is submerged. The nozzle and intake 12 are relatively moveable to control the suction. As shown the nozzle 16 is on the end of a moveable section 14 of the supply pipe and this section may be hydraulically reciprocated by a motor 40 controlled by an automatic reversing valve 51 and by a valve 45 actuated by sensing means 61, 62 in the discharge pipe 10. Means 61 senses cessation of flow and means 62 solid content. The intake 12 has a resilient lining and the nozzle 16 may seat thereon to wholly close the intake. Flow guide vanes 29 are provided. In another embodiment a twin cylinder hydraulic motor is used.</p> |
