A rotary kiln equipped with specially constructed means for supporting the outlet ends of uphill cooler tubes independently of the kiln shell is disclosed. This support means includes a tubular body encircling the kiln shell in spaced apart relationship. The outlet ends of the cooler tubes are connected to this tubular body which itself is independently supported for rotation with the kiln shell.
