The heater (1) has positive temperature coefficient resistor elements (34, 36) supplied with current over power supplies and directly or indirectly brought in thermal contact with a wall of a retainer. An activation pin is adjustable from a release position into an activation position. The resistor elements are adjustable from an assembly position into an effective position in which thermal and/or electrical contacts are ensured. The resistor elements are in thermal contact with the wall or in electrical contact with the power supplies in the assembly position.
