PURPOSE: A backlight unit is provided to place light emitting devices on each groove formed on a light guide plate respectively. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of grooves are formed on a light guide plate(100). Each side light emitting device(310) is inserted into each groove. Side light emitting devices are mounted on a printed circuit board(300). A reflecting plate(320) is placed between the light guide plate and the printed circuit board. An adhesive bonds the light guide plate, the printed circuit board, and the reflecting plate.
