1447665 Dyeing wool HOECHST AG 7 Sept 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 42135/73 Heading D1B Wool having a polyamine or polyimine antifelting coating is dyed by an exhaustion process in aqueous bath with at least one reactive dye which contains in the non-fibre-reacting groups in the molecule two or more groups selected from sulphonic acid and sulphonate groups in the presence of an additive of general formulae: in which X is a hydrogen atom or an -SO 3 H or -SO 3 Na group or other -SO 3 - alkali metal group, R 1 represents a C 2 to C 14 alkyl group, R 2 and R 2 ' which may be the same or different each represents a hydrogen atom or C 2 to C 14 alkyl group, Y and Y' which may be the same or different each represents hydrogen or a sodium atom and A is a radical -CH 2 - or a mixture of any two or more of such additives. The total amount of additive is preferably in the range 0.5 to 1% calculated on the weight of dry wool, preferred additives being a condensation product of formaldehyde and naphthalene-2-sulphonic acid, sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, and the condensation product of m-cresol with naphthalene-2-sulphonic acid in a molar ratio of 1:2. Azo and anthraquinone dyes containing a vinylsulphone, sulphatoethyl - sulphone, chloroethylsulphone, methyltaurinosulphone or thiosulphatoethylsulphone group may be used.
|
