The invention relates to a windshield wiper device (1, 21), particularly for a rear window wiper of a motor vehicle, comprising a wiper motor (2, 22) which drives an output shaft (4, 24) actuating a wiper lever by way of a transmission assembly accommodated in a transmission housing (3, 23), wherein the transmission assembly comprises a conversion gear mechanism (5, 25) for translating a rotational movement of the wiper motor (2, 22) into an oscillating rotating movement of the output shaft (4, 24), said conversion gear mechanism comprising a push rod (6, 26) and a rib (8, 28) connected to the push rod (6, 26) in a articulated manner, said rib holding a tooth segment in relation to a pinion (10, 33) that is non-rotatably connected to the output shaft (24) in an equidistant manner, the tooth segment meshing with said pinion. The rib is rotatably mounted in the transmission housing (3, 23) in a stationary manner, at a distance from a rotational axis of the output shaft (4, 24).
