PURPOSE: An image display apparatus and a method for operating the same are provided to utilize a graphic object as a page converting or a screen converting menu. CONSTITUTION: A video display device displays a home screen including an application menu(S1410). If a first card object in which some part of card objects are displayed is selected, the video display device displays overall shape of the first card object(S1420). The video display device moves one or more of the displayed card object to a hidden area. The video display device displays one or more among the card objects in the hidden area(S1430).
