<p>The machine has a supply unit supplying a strap to a annular strap-guiding channel such that the strap passes around the channel and forms a closed loop when a single-loop guide in a single-loop mode is in a gap of the channel, and forms loops in the channel and another channel when a double-loop guide is in a dual-loop mode in the gap of the channels. A tensioning unit is engaged for tensioning the strap around the package within the channels, and sealing ends of the strap at a location offset from the gaps. Ends of the channels are formed with tongues fitted with straight guide grooves. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a strapping machine to wrap a strap around a package.</p> |
