1505304 Fluid treatment of yarns RHONEPOULENC-TEXTILE 4 June 1975 [10 June 1974] 24137/75 Heading D1L Yarns are treated with a fluid e.g. dye, size, water, steam or particles, by passing the yarn through a groove 2 into which the fluid is supplied from tangential orifices 3 therein so as to maintain the yarn in suspension out of contact with the walls of the groove. As shown the grooves are helical on the surface of a hollow cylindrical body 1 into the interior 4 of which the fluid is supplied from inlet 5. Various alternative groove shapes are illustrated in Figs; 4-8 (not shown). Two cylindrical bodies 1 may be used in series [Fig. 9 (not shown)], the yarn passing between successive turns of each body through two sets of false twist nozzles 8. |
