OPTICAL MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

There have been no thin and long member which has color filter functions, polarization functions and excellent display characteristics and can be taken up in a roll form, and a method for manufacturing such member. An optical member (1) composed of at least a color filter substrate (3) and an optical film layer (2) is provided.  The color filter substrate (3) has a color filter layer (3b) formed at least on a long plastic film substrate (3a), and an optical film layer (2) formed on the substrate (3a) surface where the color filter layer (3b) is not formed, with an adhesive layer (4) between the substrate surface and the optical film layer.  A method for manufacturing the optical member (1) composed of at least the color filter substrate (3) and the optical film layer (2) is also provided.  The color filter substrate (3) is formed at least on the long plastic film substrate (3a), and the method is provided with a step of forming the optical film layer (2) on the substrate (3a) surface where the color filter layer (3b) is not formed, with the adhesive layer (4) between the substrate surface and the optical film layer.
