PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface function improving method for a workpiece and a device thereof capable of improving a surface function of the workpiece at the same time as ELID grinding. SOLUTION: This surface function improving device is provided with an electrolysis inprocess dressing grinding device 10 and a workpiece application device 12 for applying the workpiece to a higher electric potential than an electrode to apply the workpiece to the higher electric potential than the electrode using alkaline grinding fluid as conductive grinding fluid 3. Consequently, the number of OH ions in the grinding fluid and the concentration of dissolved oxygen can be increased, the OH ions are attracted to a surface of the workpiece having a plus (+) electric potential, and the surface thereof is oxidized by the OH ions and the dissolved oxygen to form an oxide film on the surface thereof. |
