The method involves attaching bristles of a bristle mat with one another and fusing the bristles in an attachment region on two sides of the bristle mat. An annular plastic profile (2) uniformly corrugated over a circumference and holding the bristle mat is created with corrugation peaks (3-5) and corrugation troughs (6-8) extending along axial direction in a press of material application. The attachment is carried out by the material application on two sides and/or material entry into center of the bristle mat. An independent claim is also included for a segment comprising a plastic profile.
