<p>PURPOSE: A function extending method using printed data, a function extending apparatus, and recording medium are provided to extend a function of an application through printing data which is outputted from an existing application. CONSTITUTION: A virtual port(203) of an OS kernel layer(230) obtains printing data which is outputted from an application to a communication port. A function extending unit includes a port processing unit(204), a data analyzing unit(205), a data manufacturing unit(206), a command converting unit(207), and a data storing unit(208). The function extending unit extends a function for printing data which is obtained from the virtual port. The function extending unit outputs printing data to the communication port.</p> |
