摘要 The method involves detecting rigidity of a collision objector by a rigidity module of a controller circuit. The rigidity of the collision objector is determined based on temporal changes of an acceleration signal. The temporal change is determined by a minimum variance evaluator i.e. recursive lease square evaluator. An output signal (116) of the minimum variance evaluator is subjected to a threshold value comparison based on a characteristic (115) derived from a collision signal, where the result of the comparison is used for influence of a control algorithm (109). An independent claim is also included for a controller for controlling protection units for a vehicle.
