Device for trimming printed products

The method involves pressing down a print product (D) with a press crosshead (5), and trimming the pressed down product with an upper knife (6) and a lower knife (4). The press crosshead is lifted prior to lifting the upper knife from an upper knife bottom dead center region. The upper knife is lifted subsequent to lifting the press crosshead. The trimmed product is conveyed with a conveying device. The press crosshead is lifted up by a distance that corresponds to a thickness of the product. The product is moved from one trimming station (S1) to the other trimming station (S2). An independent claim is also included for a trimming apparatus for performing the method of trimming a print product.
