<p>PURPOSE:To readily and accurately detect tape end by using a means of comparing the electric signals indicating the ratio of the rotating speeds of tape reels and the signals having been stored and a means of changing over the electric signals indicating the rotating speeds according to tape running directions. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 3 is put on from a feed reel 1 to a take-up reel 2 and the input pulse number from the tachometer of the reel 2 is counted at the time intervals of the continuous tachometer pulses from the reel 1 and is stored in a register 8. It turns out that the value of the register 8 having been stored indicates the tape end in the state of rewinding the tape 3 from the reel 2 to 1 and therefore if this value and the count value of the input pulses from the tachometer of the reel 2 at the time intervals of the continuous tachometer pulses from the reel 1 are compared with a digital comparator 9, the tape end in the rewinding direction of the tape 3 is accurately detected. In the case of delivering out the tape 3, detection may be made similarly if the selector switch 6 is changed over.</p> |
