The device has an optical object sensor (14,16) for detecting the objects in a protective area (24), where the signals from the object sensor are evaluated by a control device (17). A determination unit is provided in the control device for determining the velocity vectors of a vehicle (10), where the control device is integrated in the object sensor. A selection unit is provided for selecting the protection areas that are associated with the determined velocity vectors. A switching signal is generated by a signal generating unit on detection of the protective area of the object. An independent claim is also included for a method for safety control of vehicle, particularly an unmanned vehicle. |
