The apparatus has a cylinder/piston device (12), the piston rod (28) of which is surrounded by a pre-formable, non-load-bearing sleeve (50). The thickness of this sleeve (50) is selected in such a way that the piston rod deformation to be expected, if the piston is struck by a projectile, does not extend radially beyond the outside diameter of the sleeve. The sleeve (50) can be made of brittle or soft material. The control apparatus does not need to be oversized so that particular parts can be dismantled after deformation of the piston rod; it thus has relatively small dimensions and is relatively light. <IMAGE> |
