PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an airtight container is provided to stably drive an image display device for a long term by improving the bonding strength and confidentiality of an airtight container. CONSTITUTION: A face plate(12) and frame members(14-17) are sealed up with a second sealing material(1). A rear plate(13) and the frame members are sealed up with a third sealing material(2). A separation part of a frame body(18) is sealed up with a first sealing material(3). The third sealing material is arranged in a frame shape between the rear plate and the frame body along the frame body. Localized heating light locally heats the neighborhood of a sealing area.
