PURPOSE: An elevator system is provided to maximize arrangement or simplification of the exterior. CONSTITUTION: An elevator system(200) comprises a hollow guide pile(230), an elevator car(210), and a counterweight. The hollow guide pile comprises a car guide space(S1) and a counterweight guide space(S2). The elevator car comprises a car main body(212) and a slide block(214). In one side of the car main body, a C-shaped recessed groove(213) is extended in vertical length direction. The car body is vertically moved along the guide pile installed in the recessed part. The slide block is accommodated in the car guide space and supported by a car guide rail to guide up and down motion. The counterweight is accommodated in the counterweight guide space and supported by a counterweight guide rail to guide up and down motion.
