PURPOSE:To feed a larger amount of the lamellar lubricant than the conventional method into the cold rolling rolls in order to greatly reduce the rolling power, by applying the emulsion liquid type lubricant to the sheet at the point before the biting position of the reducing roll, in order to remove away the emulsion liquid from the surface layer. CONSTITUTION:At executing the cold rolling for the steel strip S by the mill constituted of the backup roll 2 and the work roll 1, the emulsion type lubricant is sprayed against the strip S from the spray nozzle N installed at the position 2m before the roll axis; the lubricant is wiped away by the wiper K, and is blown away by the compressed air (2kg/cm<2>) injection nozzle Gx installed closely to the roll bite I. The lamellar lubricant is not reemulsified by the roll bite I, and a larger amount of the developable lubricant than the conventional method is fed into the gap between the strip S and rills 1, 1, so that the rolling load is reduced by 50- 60kg/mm (5-6%). |
