PURPOSE: A user interface providing method and apparatus thereof are provided to effectively acquire the input signal of a user by receiving the input signal from other area corresponding to an item. CONSTITUTION: A display processing unit(130) provides a display area. The display area includes a first touch area which displays an item list and a second touch area which displays the selecting state of the item. A touch signal sensing unit(140) senses the occurrence of a touch input signal on the display area. When the touch input is generated in the first touch area, a control unit(150) moves the item category. When the touch input is generated in the second touch area, the control unit changes the selecting state.
