PURPOSE: A coin handling apparatus is provided to be miniaturized by manufacturing a metallic currency carrying part to be disk shape and carrying a metallic currency using a cylindrical shaped chute instead of a carrying belt or a carrying roller. CONSTITUTION: A metallic currency carrying part(3) has a identification part(4) numbering a metallic currency transferred one by one from a metallic currency input part(1). The metallic currency carrying part includes a reject hole(5) and a receiving hole(6). The reject hole passes through the metallic currency which is not numbered. The receiving hole passes through the metallic currency which is numbered. A temporary storing part(11) stores a counted metallic currency and has a bottom part which selectably opens and closes a returning outlet and a receiving outlet which release the metallic currency. A reject chute(7) guides the metallic currency dropping from the reject hole to a reject metallic currency receiving part(8). A receiving chute(10) guides the metallic currency dropping from the receiving hole to the temporary storing part. A return chute(12) drops from the temporary storing part and guides the metallic currency passing through the return outlet to a return box. A storing chute(14) guides the metallic currency to a metallic currency collection cassette(15).
