<p>A new derivative of 2-phenylpropionic acid of the formula (I) is obtained by subjecting a corresponding alkyl ester of the formula: (IX) wherein R is a lower alkyl radical, to a saponification reaction carried out in the presence of an alkaline or earth-alkaline hydroxide in a lower alkanol, and subsequent acidification with a mineral acid. The new derivative shows anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipiretic properties.</p> |
