PURPOSE: A converter refining method is provided to reduce double tapping or change in the kind of steel by stably controlling the nitrogen density of molten steel. CONSTITUTION: A converter refining method comprises the steps of: implementing heat balancing in a converter(1), starting refining work of the converter, measuring the temperature and carbon content of molten steel during refining work, predicting nitrogen density at the completion time of refining from the measured temperature and carbon content of molten steel, injecting titanium in case of the predicted nitrogen density higher than a proper nitrogen content, completing the refining work, measuring the temperature and oxygen density of molten steel, analyzing the measured temperature and oxygen density and injecting titanium in case of reblow needed, and measuring the temperature and oxygen density of molten steel and stirring a material for 45 seconds or longer in case of reblow not needed. |
