METHOD FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC CASTING OF SILICON INGOT

PURPOSE: An electromagnetic casting method of silicon ingot is provided to suppress contamination of the silicon ingot due to copper from a cooling mold of a copper material, thereby manufacturing the silicon ingot suitable for a solar cell substrate material. CONSTITUTION: An induction coil(2) is formed by surrounding a cooling mold(1). A heat insulation container(4) is installed on the lower side of the induction coil. The heat insulation container prevents radical cooling of silicon ingot(3) by heating the coagulated silicon ingot. A plasma torch(5) generates plasma arc as a heating source. The plasma torch is installed in order to be lifted in the upward direction of molten silicon(6).
