PLASMATRON FOR DEEP PROCESSING LIQUID METAL

The invention relates to metallurgy and foundry and can be used at refining and modifying alloys using plasma stream which is immersed in a liquid metal. A plasmatron for deep metal processing comprises an anode made as a pipe having a graphite tip, a mechanism for plasma arc excitation, a changeable insertion with an opening, at that the axial opening of diameter d=0.8- in the insertion is connected to its side openings with d,diameter located at ≥5 mm height from the anode bottom at the ratio of d/d=1.5÷4. The technical result is improvement of refining level of alloys and strength properties thereof.
