COAST STOP VEHICLE AND COAST STOP METHOD

PURPOSE: A cost stop vehicle and method are provided to prevent a variator belt to be slid by stopping an oil pump and releasing a friction coupling element at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A variator(20) comprises a pair of pulleys and a belt. The belt is wound on a pair of pulleys. A friction coupling element is installed in the front or rear end of the variator. A continuously variable automatic transmission(4) changes the output rotation of an engine and outputs in the driving wheel. An oil pump is driven by the engine and generates supply fluid pressure. An accumulator is installed in the center of an oil path which supplies the fluid pressure generated in the oil pump to the friction coupling element. A cost stop control means stops the engine after reducing the fluid pressure.
