PURPOSE: An infrared reflector having an infrared ray reflecting layer is provided to shield heat from the window pane of a building and a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An infrared reflecting layer(12) includes light reflecting layers(14a,14b,16a,16b) carrying a fixed cholesteric liquid crystal phase. The light reflecting layers are layers carrying a respectively fixed cholesteric liquid crystal phase. The light reflecting layers show optical selective reflectivity reflecting light included in a range of a specific wavelength based on a helical pitch on the cholesteric liquid crystal. Helical directions at the cholesteric liquid crystal phases of adjacent light reflecting layers are opposite and reflection center wavelengths are similar. |
