<p>A filtering device, for recovering paint material in powder form from air drawn from a spray booth, comprises at least two, preferably four annular pleated paper filter elements 12 located in a common housing, with an inlet 4 leading from the spray booth, and separated by a cruciform baffle 14. Each element in turn is isolated from a suction fan by lowering a respective valve 16, which incorporates a nozzle 18 which then delivers reverse flow cleaning air from a tank 21 via a quick-acting valve 20, and paint powder blown from the element is discharged from the housing by a valve 8, assisted by a vibrator (9). Mechanism 16 to 21 may be located in a separate upper housing as shown, which is permanently connected to the suction fan, several lower housings, containing sets of filter elements and intended to collect different paint materials, being mounted to pivot round a common pillar so that each in turn comes into connection with the upper housing (Figure 1, not shown). <IMAGE></p> |
