PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POLYMERIC PETROLEUM RESIN

A process for the preparation of polymeric petroleum resin involves cooligomerization of Cfraction of liquid pyrolysis products in the presence of heterogeneous catalyst at thorough mixing, followed by catalyst filtration, successive atmospheric and vacuum distillation of oligomerization product. Palygorskite preliminarily activated by treatment with 10-15% solution of mineral acid at a temperature of 80-100 °C for 4-6 hours is used as a catalyst. Copolymerization is carried out for 1-6 hours at a temperature of 60-140 °C, atmospheric pressure and content of catalyst of 1-15%.
