PURPOSE: A detecting device for a steel wire cord exposed from a belt of manufacturing a tire is provided to quickly detect even a short exposed steel wire cord and determine a failure, thereby improving the quality of tires. CONSTITUTION: A detecting device for a wire cord exposed from a belt of manufacturing a tire comprises a non-conductive detection shaft(10), coin rollers(12) which are respectively connected to conductive portions formed at regular intervals on the detection shaft and have an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the conductive portions, wires which are parallely arranged on the detection shaft with cathode and anode contacts that are alternately connected to the conductive portions of the detection shaft, and a sensor which determines the exposure of a steel wire cord(35) when the wires are electrically connected. A shaft fixing frame(15) installed on the upper side of a belt servicer(40) supports the detection shaft of a semi-product belt(30).
