A method for assessment of the functional impairment of the liver in the chronic inflammation of bile ducts in the children provides for the examination of the changes in the venous blood flow with its novel feature consisting in the assessment of the state of the portal vein with the measurement of average, maximal systolic and diastolic rates, systolic-diastolic index, and resistance index. The deceleration of blood flow in the portal vein is indicative of the early functional impairment of the liver. |
