PURPOSE: A hydrodynamic disk drive spindle motor having a lubricant with a hydro bearing is provided to delay the formation of acid by the lubricant. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor includes a stationary member(34), a rotatable member(36), and a hydro bearing(37). The hydro bearing connects the stationary member and the rotatable member. The hydro bearing has a separated working surface(44,46,48,50) by a lubricant(60). The lubricant includes a synthetic ester base fluid, one or more tri-C6-C14-aryl phosphates, and one or more carbodiimides.
