PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to display a pocket area in a boundary area of a screen by selection of a user and generate a folder which stores an icon which is dragged. CONSTITUTION: A control unit displays an operation screen on which icons are arranged on a display unit(S200). If a first icon is dragged to a pocket area arranged in a boundary area of the screen after the first icon among the icons is touched, the control unit makes the first icon disappear in the pocket area(S215,S220). The control unit displays a second icon at an initial location of the first icon(S225).
