PURPOSE: A monitor power control device of a security recorder of a cash dispenser and a method thereof are provided to sense an illumination change in a cash dispenser, thereby turning a monitor of the security recorder on/off. CONSTITUTION: An illumination sensing unit(310) senses illumination in a cash dispenser case. A monitor driving unit(340) outputs an image by a video signal outputted from a security recorder. A monitor controller(300) automatically supplies or blocks power to the monitor driving unit by a power switching unit(330).
