PURPOSE:To save the electricity used for the formation of a lead acid battery, and make any exchange of a formation liquid unnecessary by pouring into a container a low concentration dilute sulfuric acid before the formation is carried out, and by adding gradually higher concentrations of dilute sulfuric acids beginning with a medium one after the finishment of the formation. CONSTITUTION:A lead acid battery is assembled by using plates which have not undergone any formation. Afte that, a low concentration dilute sulfuric acid having a specific gravity of 1.05-1.15 is poured into a container, and formation is carried out in the container. After the feeding of current is finished, gradually stronger concentrations of dilute sulfuric acids having a specific gravity of 1.45-1.60 beginning with a medium one having a specific gravity of 1.30-1.45 are added, until an electrolyte of a given specific gravity of 1.26-1.275 is obtained. |
